Interior Design Partnership is a full-service interior design firm, focusing on high-end residential projects. Projects are most successful when our team can address a project holistically - designing and managing all elements of a project from initial conception to completion, allowing our clients to enjoy a bespoke, turn-key experience, and an interior that truly reflects their personal aesthetic.

VICKI MURPHY, founder

Vicki has over 40 years of experience as an independent interior designer creating timeless spaces that are distinctive, thoughtful, and refined. She is passionate about building her clients’ understanding of good design – paying particular attention to the importance of scale, layout, and color.

Her approach is both practical and refreshing; Vicki uses a client’s existing design elements as a foundation for breathing new life into a space. Whether the style is traditional or contemporary, Vicki’s mission is to create beautiful and livable interiors catered to her clients’ individual needs.

At IDP, Vicki is Head Designer/Creative Director. She leads the firm’s design creation and implementation, and she manages our relationships with the trusted and extensive team of experts and vendors that work with IDP.

“Home is refuge, not only from the world, but a refuge from my worries, my terrible concerns. I like beautiful things around me. I like to be beautiful, because it delights my eyes and my soul is lifted up.”

KENDALL SEVERSON, principal

From an early age, Kendall has had a passion for interior design. As a child, she would often accompany Vicki on Merchandise Mart trips and client visits. She attributes her approach to space, color, and texture to her “on the job” training with mom.

Prior to IDP, Kendall was President and Owner of At Your Command, a lifestyle design firm in the Washington, DC area. She worked with an array of clients – including law firms, business executives, and busy families – to simplify operations and increase efficiency. Kendall also organized large-scale client moves and handled interior design for her clients.

Kendall has a background in public relations and public affairs, political campaigns, event planning, and project management. She graduated from Columbia University with a degree in political science.

As a wife and mother to one daughter and a sweet rescue dog, Kendall understands the importance of function and livability in a home. She enjoys collaborating with her clients to create spaces that merge function with fresh, sophisticated design.
